Frequently asked questions about me & my art
“What’s your inspiration?”
The answer is quite simple: It's life—and the pursuit of growth and freedom.
Much of my inspiration also comes from my urge to explore what lies beneath the surface.
“What´s your message? And the stories behind your artworks?”
There is no message in my artworks—and also, no stories. My artworks aren’t meant to be understood, but to be grasped intuitively and in a very personal and unique kind of way. They are intended as impulses that can trigger many different things. They can act as mirrors for the viewer's own internal world, they might stimulate the imagination, remind of hidden desires and dreams, or amplify one's perceptive ability. I don't want to dictate anything but rather give people a space to explore themselves—mentally, emotionally, and/or spiritually.
“How does your artistic practice look like? What kind of techniques do you use?”
You won’t find me making statements about my creation process or entering theoretical, intellectual, or academic conversations about my artworks. What I can say is that I’m not a craftswoman spending every day in a studio, as I´m not that much obsessed with the creative work itself like traditional artists. Sometimes I create art, but there are (long) times in which I don’t.
I don’t follow a plan—but life and my daily mood.
In this context it might probably be interesting to know, that my main work is to be fully present in the moment and with myself. Because only through this presence I can maintain my unique connection to life and my surroundings, resulting in inner reflections that I transform into words or art.
"What about your exhibition history / your reputation as an artist?"
I am an independent artist, unaffiliated with the traditional art scene. For that reason, I am free from the need to build a reputation to prove the value of my work. My art isn’t meant for collectors, but for those who resonate with it (and with me) on a deeper level. As I consider myself primarily a writer and as I aim to connect with others on meaningful levels, I have no interest in presenting my work in conventional exhibition settings, where its essence and true purpose would risk being reframed and diluted.
"Can I follow you on Social Media?"
Although I have an Instagram and a Facebook account, I'm no longer active on those profiles. Therefore, the best way to stay connected with me is through one of my newsletters (weekly newsletter
or occasional purely
art-related newsletter).
"Do you share insights from your life as an artist?
Like behind the scenes from your creative work or from your studio?"
I appreciate the curiosity and interest of some people to learn more about an artist's work.
But personall, I don´t provide insights into any aspect of my life for several reasons.
Where do you live?"
My business address is currently registered in Germany. But I live wherever life takes me—until it takes me somewhere else.
